Camping Nov 2008

Jackson and Dad went camping up the California coast one more time before the end of the year. We enjoyed a beautiful full moon, low-tide on the rocks, and camp fires at night.

This was Jackson's first lollipop. He was crazy for them after seeing the other kids eating them. What's a parent to do. We only let him have one ;-)
It was a cherry flavored dum-dum.

Here's Jackson and Lesley at Eli's 2nd birthday party. Jackson and Eli are friends from taking Swim & Gym sessions together at the YMCA. All the kids at Eli's partyy went on the train ride before having birthday cake at Travel Town area of Griffith Park which is located next to the vintage train museum.

Camping AGAIN!

Jackson and I went camping for the third time this summer. What fun. This time, we went to the famous surf break camp grounds at Jalama Beach (pronounced HA LA MA) which is 3 hours North of Santa Monica. This was a real road trip.

We arrived by noon and picked out our camp site. We set-up camp. Jackson was very helpful hammering the tent spikes in the ground with a rock. Our first day featured a beautiful sunset.

Jackson loves sleeping in the "big boy bed" with Dad as the camp fire casts its glow in our tent. The wind started the next afternoon, eventually chasing us back home a day early but we had a blast.

Ready to go surfing, after I return this teddy bear to my tent

Jackson and Dad went camping for the second time of the summer of '08 at Leo Carillo Beach in Malibu, CA. Jackson loves sleeping in the big boy bed with Dad. We have lots fun staying up past Jackson's bedtime with the fire glowing in our tent. Nights and early mornings are getting as cold as the Pacific Ocean this time of year, but the sun still stokes the beach, making for lots of daytime fun in the sand.
